Rafa’s 21 glorious moments of history
Rafael Nadal won the Australian Open on Sunday, January 30th, 2022, in a dream final against the favorite Daniil Medvedev. He won his 21st Grand Slam tournament and became the most titled player in tennis history, beating Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.
The Spaniard had to put in an outstanding performance to win. From two sets down, Rafa turned the match around and created the sensation after 5 hours and 24 minutes of a titanic battle 2-6, 6-7, 6-4, 7-5.
Equipped with his signature racket, the Pure Aero Rafa and his RPM Blast string, Rafa surprised everyone after spending 5 months off the court.
With this second Australian Open title, Nadal joins Djokovic, Emerson and Laver who have all won at least two Grand Slam events in their careers.
The year is off to a great start with this emotional Australian Open. We are looking forward to the next Grand Slam tournament, Roland Garros.
